How home physio works
A step by step guide to working with Sheffield Home Physio
-
Contact via phone, email or the website contact form for a friendly chat.
If you decide to go ahead and book an appointment, we’ll agree a convenient date and time for you.
I’ll send you a form via email to complete before your appointment - this covers some basic information about you, your condition and your medical history.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and allows access to the affected area (e.g. shorts or loose, stretchy trousers for leg issues).
Please have any relevant hospital discharge letters or medical reports available.
Choose an area of your home that is spacious, well-lit and clutter-free.
Think about the main difficulties you’re having and the goals you’d like to achieve.
-
I’ll arrive at your address at the agreed time, wearing uniform and a name badge.
You can have a family member or carer present if you wish - their input and help can be valuable for the session.
-
We’ll discuss the history of your condition, your symptoms and how they affect you.
The physical assessment will be tailored to you - it may involve assessment of your movement, strength, mobility and function.
We’ll discuss your goals and treatment plan.
I’ll provide initial advice and exercises for you to start your recovery.
If you need further treatment sessions, we’ll agree a date and time for your next appointment.
Payment is by cash, card payment or bank transfer at the end of the session.
-
I’ll follow up by sending you a summary of any advice and exercises given.
Work on your exercises - your effort between sessions will make the difference and speed up your recovery.
If you need equipment (such as mobility aids or equipment for daily living), I can advise and help with your order.
